Are you looking for a full-on, active day in the rivers and trees of the Dominican Republic? If you are reasonably fit and healthy, you can book our combo tour to the 27 Waterfalls in Damajagua & Ziplining. (Please note, this tour is for only doing 7 of the waterfalls. We have another page with the option to do either 12 or all 27) It is one of the favourite tours as you get to spend the day in the beautiful, lush Dominican countryside, jumping down waterfalls into stunning river pools and flying through the air as fee as a bird. Exciting and refreshing on a hot day!
Your wet and wild day starts when we pick you up in Amber cove, and after a short drive of around 25 mins, you will arrive at the location. At the base, you will be greeted by professional guides who will give you a full safety briefing and kit you all with all the safety gear (helmets and life jackets). We recommend that you already have on your swimwear and clothing that you want to wear for the tour and can leave any dry items on the bus or in a locker at this stage.
When you leave the base you will first cross the Damajagua river and head on a trek up the mountain trail for around 30 minutes (so make sure you feel fit enough to do this). Remember to look around you and take in the beauty of the lush tropical jungle and its vast array of plants, birds and animals.
When you reach the end of the trail, you will enter into the river and start your descent of 7 of the famous 27 waterfalls, canyon rapid and energising pools. You will jump, swim, slide and wade through these and make your way back to the base, tired but in a great way. Waiting for you will be tasty local Dominican style buffet and whatever soft drinks or local rum you like – all included in the price.
Next, we jump back in the air-conditioned transport, and take a short drive to the zip line park and for the fun to begin!!
Totalling more than 1.5 miles, the eight acct certified zip lines will give you plenty of thrills. We will provide water to keep you refreshed during the activity.
No experience is necessary, and small children can even enjoy the experience by zipping with an adult.
Port Pickup Info
Meeting Point:
We have to pick you up at the main entrance of the terminal on the road. As it is an independent tour, the cruise lines do not allow us to pick you up inside the terminal. When we receive your reservation, we will send you the confirmation receipt with all the instructions, and a map so that you can easily find the meeting point. We leave 45 minutes after the boat docks, and it takes about 12-15 minutes to walk from the boat, so make sure you leave enough time to get there.
What To Bring
You will get wet so wear your swimwear, a t-shirt and shorts (for protection on the slides) with running shoes you can get wet. You can rent shoes there, but you will be more comfortable using your own if you have them. You will need a towel, change of dry clothes/footwear to put on once you have finished the tour and you can leave this bag safely on the bus. If you want to bring a camera, make sure it is a waterproof one. Otherwise, we can provide a photo and video service which will be available for purchase on tour.
For the ziplines, you will need shoes with closed toes (no flipflops or sandals) and shorts or pants (no skirts)
Who Can Go
Only people who are in reasonable condition and confident swimmers can come as there is a walk to the start of the falls and then deep water in the pools. Children must be over eight years old, and the maximum weight is 275lbs for the waterfalls and 260lbs for the ziplines. Also for the ziplines, the maximum waist size is 44 inches/130 cms, and the leg circumference is 31 inches/80cms
We do not allow customers with any of the following conditions to take the tour.
- Pregnancy
- Recent Surgery
- Back or Neck Problems
- Heart Condition
- Knee problems
- Taking Medication that may impair them mentally or physically
Important Information:
Don’t worry if your ship is late or does not come into port! We offer full refunds on tours not able to run for these reasons. If it is just a little late and we can still run the tour, we will shorten the lunch to make up for the lost time, so you still get to enjoy the activity and get back to the boat in time. Please contact us if you have any questions around this. This is a longer tour, and we always ensure you are back at the boat an hour before it leaves, so do not worry about this.
